Position Description
As an IP Solution Engineer you will closely work with the Project Manager, Solution Consultant and Solution Architect. You will also engage closely with a customer to create a best-in-class network planning and optimization solution based on customer challenges and core network architecture.

The IP Planning Engineer main task is to plan Multi-Service IP Backbone and includes:
- Detailed planning and dimensioning for network elements
- Planning IP connectivity (layer 2 and 3 switching and IP routing)
- MPLS and IP networks architecture
- Supports securing the network and firewall implementation
- IP backbone dimensioning and topology
- Support feature implementation: analysis, data/parameters definition and network test supervision
- Support for new architecture implementation: analysis, data/parameters definition and network test supervision including inter-working vendors
- Support for architecture and feature problem solving
- Support for daily technical questions and answers regarding IP Solution
- Cisco and/or Juniper Router QoS
- Relevant experience in IP Networks
- Cisco and/or Juniper certification preferred
- Knowledge in the MPLS networks, IP routing protocols and IP QoS parameters
- Experience in OSPF, ISIS and other routing protocols
- English speaking

Eu comecei a trabalhar com redes e desde então existia um fantasma que assustava o mundo de redes.. “O fim do Endereçamento IP”. Em um dos dois únicos provedores de backbone do país (O outro era a estatal Embratel), eu ja via o pessoal de alocação de IPs “segurando” pra não fornecer blocos /27 para clientes menores pois um /28 seria suficiente. (André, Pucci, Edu, George) mas era necessário..  E assim foi…  veio o salva-pátria “NAT” e ali num canto isolado dos livros e documentações aparecia de vez em quando algo que inevitavelmente nós engenheiros teríamos que dominar.. Era o IP versão 6.  Eu nunca dei muita importância pois 15 anos se passaram e sempre existia essa promessa da virada pra IPv6, mas nunca acontecia nada, sempre alarme falso..

Hoje pela manhã eu estava vindo trabalhar e na rádio do carro entrou uma chamada de notícias.. O que me chamou atenção foi o anúncio oficial do fim do endereçamento IPv4. Wow.. veja anuncio o oficial.

Acho que este pode ser um grande marco e muitas mudanças e oportunidades aparecerão..
